Time is ticking.
They say the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago.
The second best time to plant a tree is today.
It’s the same with investing.
There are 3 factors to growing a nest egg: Time, Cash, and Rate of Return.
Not everyone is born “on third base with the bases loaded”, but what most people have in common is the same opportunity of the most scarce resource of all: time.
Rate of return is out of your control (at least the trend of rates being high or low), so all you can do is invest whatever you can, diligently, without compromise, for a long period of time.
This, everyone can do.
As Dave Ramsey likes to point out that $100/month invested over 40 years in a good fund grows to over $1,000,000.

The fancy investor term is “Dollar-Cost Averaging” or DCA, but all that means is you just buy the same investment over and over again, diligently, and (again) with zero compromise. Stick to your guns, and over time the Law of Averages will play in your favor.
